Yuji Ide arrives on the Formula One scene fresh from his runner up position in the Formula Nippon series.
Joining Takuma Sato at the new Super Aguri team, Ide started his motorsports career karting in 1990 before jumping up to the Japanese F3 championship in 1994. Ide would remain in the series for no less then seven seasons before moving to the French F3 championship.
In 2003 he graduated to the Formula Nippon series finishing his first season in seventh position and finished third the following season. Ide would go one better in 2005 with victories at Suzuka and Mine.
Ide certainly has plenty of experience and it will be interesting to see how he copes with the demands of Formula One.
